Rather than a single model, Intrecciato refers to the signature woven leather technique that has been central to Bottega Veneta since the mid-1970s. Originating from a need to strengthen fine leather, this diagonal weave has become a defining aesthetic for the house, representing a philosophy of refined craftsmanship and understated luxury without visible branding. Its presence across numerous Bottega Veneta bags underscores the brand’s commitment to technical expertise and elegant restraint.

THE HOUSE OF BOTTEGA VENETA

Bottega Veneta was founded in Vicenza in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro as a leather goods atelier rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. From its inception, the house rejected visible logos in favour of material innovation, most notably through the development of the Intrecciato weaving technique. After joining the Gucci Group (now Kering) in 2001, Bottega Veneta entered a defining period under creative director Tomas Maier, who established a philosophy of discreet, craftsmanship-led luxury. This approach has been further developed under Matthieu Blazy, whose tenure has reinforced the house’s focus on technical refinement and leather experimentation.

We clean, refresh, repair and apply leather conditioner to the majority of our items, so that they enter their new life as beautiful as possible. Although we try to describe the condition as accurately as possible, the assessment is still subjective and may vary depending on individual perceptions. A+ Excellent - Almost no signs of wear. Almost never used, mostly just stored.
A Very good - Used but very well maintained. The item has minor general signs of wear; for example small marks, scuffs, wrinkles, wear to the material, wear to the hardware, wear to the corners etc.). May have some alterations done.
B Good - Used but well maintained. More prominent signs of wear; for example (in addition to the above) spots, dirt, rubbing, tears, etc.
