THE ICONIC TRAPEZE

Launched in the early 2010s, the Trapeze bag extended the architectural language introduced with the Luggage, incorporating winged side panels that allow expansion while maintaining elegant form. As part of Céline’s broader evolution under Phoebe Philo, the Trapeze contributed to the brand’s reputation for purposeful design and minimalist restraint and remains a noteworthy example of early-21st-century handbag design.

HOUSE OF CELINE

Céline was founded in Paris in 1945 by Céline Vipiana and initially specialised in made-to-measure children’s footwear. During the 1960s, the house expanded into women’s accessories and ready-to-wear, establishing leather goods as a core category. Although not structured as a multigenerational family house, Céline remained closely aligned with its founder’s pragmatic vision until its acquisition by LVMH in 1996. The brand’s modern identity was most strongly shaped by Phoebe Philo (2008–2018), whose tenure established Céline as a reference for restrained, intellectual luxury, followed by Hedi Slimane, who introduced a new, sharper aesthetic direction.

We clean, refresh, repair and apply leather conditioner to the majority of our items, so that they enter their new life as beautiful as possible.
