TOM FORD ERA

Tom Ford was appointed creative director in 1994 following a period of financial and creative instability at the house. Ford introduced a sharply defined aesthetic characterised by streamlined silhouettes, high-gloss finishes and references to 1970s glamour. Under Ford’s direction, Gucci underwent a rapid transformation into a global fashion powerhouse. Accessories and leather goods played a central role in this revival, with updated interpretations of archival codes—such as the horsebit and bamboo—reframed within a modern, provocative context. The period also established a close alignment between creative direction and brand image, with campaigns and collections operating as a unified visual strategy. Ford remained at Gucci until 2004.

THE ICONIC JACKIE

The Gucci Jackie bag, initially launched in the 1950s under the name “Fifties Constance,” was renamed in honor of Jacqueline Kennedy, who was frequently photographed carrying it in the 1960s. This hobo-style shoulder bag, characterized by its signature piston lock, became a symbol of effortless elegance and was revived in several modern iterations by designers like Tom Ford for Gucci and Alessandro Michele. Jackie 1999, 1961, rectangular is one of the most sought after Gucci bags to this day.

We clean, refresh, repair and apply leather conditioner to the majority of our items, so that they enter their new life as beautiful as possible.
